Lucien Beach located on south coast, KwaZulu-Natal
Lucien beach is the beautiful and popular swimming beach on the other end of the stretch of beach from Hibiscus Coast’s Margate beach. It is a lovely beach to chill out on. Be warned that there is quite a steep access to the beach, as one has to walk down a number of stairs to access the beach. So this beach is not accessible by those with physical disabilities. There is a small tuck-shop at the beach and many local women sell their craft-ware in specially created areas around the main parking area. The warm water makes swimming possible 365 days of the year. The beach can be very busy during the summer and Easter holidays. Top-class lifeguards are on duty throughout the year and environmental education programmes are run during the holiday seasons.
Access to the beach is via the N2 highway south of Durban. Take the turn-off from the N2 to the R620 towards Margate.
